If it’s late August, that means film-festival time is just around the corner — not just here in Orlando but around the world.

In Central Florida, we’re gearing up for the Love Your Shorts Film Festival Summer Rewind on August 23, the Central Florida Film Festival (CenFlo) on September 6-8, the Global Peace Film Festival on September 17-22, the Enzian Theater’s South Asian Film Festival on October 12-14 and the Orlando Film Festival on October 17-24.

Globally, of course, it’s almost time for the Venice International Film Festival (considered one of the classic “big three) and the two Ts: the Telluride Film Festival and the Toronto International Film Festival. Those prestigious events often foreshadow not just the upcoming autumn movie season but the 2020 awards season too. And for the first time, I’ll be attending Telluride. Follow my blog here.
