Top 50 films for Halloween

Just in time for Halloween, here’s my list of the 50 best horror, mystery, thriller and/or suspense films of all time. While most Halloween lists focus just on horror, mine includes all types of spooky and mysterious movies, from slasher to classic mystery to film noir. Not surprisingly, the director with the most films on this list is Alfred Hitchcock, with seven.

    Interesting list.
    I cannot say that I disagree with any of these. However, I never thought that I would see a Halloween list with Michael Clayton on it.

    This is why a Meier list is a tad better than everyone else. You can get us on a technicality.

    Thanks, Jim. Yes, this is an admittedly odd list. It’s not really intended to be a Halloween list as much as it is a suspense/mystery/horror/thriller list that I thought would be cool to post on Halloween. Maybe next year I’ll take off the non-scary films and focus on just horror and mystery. That will allow me to include films such as The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and The Hunchback of Notre Dame.
