Paramount Studios
This 65-acre lot is the only major studio still located in Hollywood. It also encompasses the old RKO lot, which at one time was the home of Desilu Productions. When Desilu vacated the property, Paramount took it over. Note that each soundstage has a plaque listing what movies and TV shows were shot there but the old RKO soundstages are mostly blank because RKO didn’t keep detailed records. (The only RKO production noted is Citizen Kane.) Noteworthy photos below include the bench from Forrest Gump, various costumes and props from famous films, and the water tank (currently a parking lot) used in, among other films, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, The Truman Show and The Ten Commandments (the parting of the Red Sea).
