Oregon Film Museum (‘The Goonies’)

Fans of everything related to filmmaking in the state of Oregon — but particularly lovers of The Goonies — will be interested in a visit to the Oregon Film Museum in historic Astoria. And because it’s housed in the old county jail, the museum has something to offer history buffs too.

The Goonies (1985) was filmed in Astoria, and the building itself was briefly featured in the movie. The museum is dominated by Goonies props and information but offers info on other famous films too. It also retains the jail’s original cells, in addition to a green-screen room for filmmakers.
